As a certified PAC Consultant and Advanced Practice Consultant, Tom Johnston - owner of TrustWell Senior Care - works with seniors and their loved ones to develop and implement care plans focused on supporting clients and maintaining their dignity and as much independence as possible.

Tom's 20+ years of experience with dementia in his own family, and with clients, has taught him a great deal about successfully supporting seniors living with this type of brain change. He helps family members understand more about what their loved ones are experiencing and helps them develop the skills necessary to be as effective as possible in caring for their family members.

Dementia Care Training for Health Care Staff

As a certified PAC Trainer, Tom will help your health care team to develop and hone the knowledge and skills necessary to support seniors living with dementia.

Training programs include learning about brain changes that accompany dementia, associated behaviour, and development of new skills to be a highly effective caregivers of people living with dementia. Skills and techniques learned will include: Positive Physical Approach, Positive Action Starters, Supportive Communication Strategies, Hand-Under-Hand, and Emotional Communication.
